Hitting a wall and bouncing back

Have you ever lost your momentum?

Or have a "Mental-Pause", where your brain just doesn't seem to work?

Me too!

You can't seem to get going and all the usual things that you try don't work.

The reasons (hopes, dreams and desires) that used to drive you and get you going aren't doing it any more.

This sucks! I think to myself, another mental reboot, I've let my bad habits take over.

So at 52 I'm asking myself: what am I supposed to be doing?

What is my purpose in the world?

This is probably common when your grown children start going out on there own and you become an empty nester or it's just around the corner.

All those things that you were working for are done and now you have to move onto the next phase.

If you've got this figured out God Bless, but for the rest of us it's a challenge.

If you've noticed I haven't written in a while (mental-pause), but I figure writing, even if it's gibberish, is better than going to a shrink.

So I've come up with a little plan to get me back on track (ok, ok I didn't come up with it myself I borrowed it from Jim Rohn).

Consistency, you know where you do something regularly to create a good habit.

Hang on a second, I know what you're thinking, you've heard this before, but here's the twist you start incredibly small.

If the goal is to get in shape you start with one pushup a day.

If it's to read more you start with one paragraph or one page a day.

If it's to be kinder you say one kind word once a day.

You get the idea. Start tiny but do it everyday.

It's like compound interest, little things done over a long time generate big results.

Wish me luck or pray for consistency ( that sounds funny doesn't it? pray for consistency, Haa!)

Maybe starting really small and doing it everyday is the ticket to big results, try it out yourself and let me know.

Until next time, God Bless and be well.
